This is a wine to drink tonight, this weekend, or anytime before the fall. This wine is at its best right now! It should be enjoyed young...it's not meant to be cellared.
Made from old vine Gamay planted in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the wine receives no additon of SO2 or other preservative. Picked and sorted by hand, pressed in a small basket press, and fermented by its own natural yeasts, this is the wine of yesteryear. Similar to French country wines you might have out of carafe at little cafés when vacationing in the Loire Valley. It is a pretty wine, delicate, with fresh flavors.
Enjoy with aged goats milk cheeses or light charcuterie.
A wonderful cheese from the Rhône valley, perfect for light red wines. This week we have a few with a little extra age on them that are firm on the outside yet nutty and creamy on the inside. We recommend springing forward with your extra hours of light enjoying some wine and cheese.
